Donald Kneisel

When it comes to Information Technology in the gaming and hospitality industries, Donald Kneisel is recognized as one of the leaders.

As Vice President of Information Technology at Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, NJ, Donald is responsible for developing an Information Technology strategy, constantly evaluating emerging technologies which will enhance revenue streams, utilizing social media in support of various marketing functions, and managing the day to day operations of the Information Technology functions.

Donald also serves as Vice President of Information Technology for Gomes Gaming, a casino management firm based in southern New Jersey. Among his accomplishments at Gomes Gaming, was building an Information Technology infrastructure to support multiple casino openings in the Indiana gaming jurisdiction, opening two casinos and building Information Technology departments to support the casino.

Before joining Gomes Gaming, Donald was the corporate Vice President of Information Technology at Tropicana Casinos and Resorts, a key role that required overseeing the consolidation of technology for 13 casinos in the U.S. and abroad. Prior to that, Donald was the head of Information Technology for Atlantic City's Tropicana Casino and Resort. During his 13 years there, he was instrumental in ensuring Sarbanes-Oxley, Payment Card Industry and regulatory compliance. Donald is well-known for being the project manager of the industry's first implementation of customer self-service kiosks, now a standard in the industry. He also built the contraption for the famous Tic-Tac-Toe-playing chicken.

He is also the co-author of "Casino Gaming Technology", a text book on how technology is used in the gaming industry, which was published in January 2011.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (1984) and a Master's in Business Administration from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey (1996, Camden). In addition to his extensive corporate experience, Donald has taught hospitality courses at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey at Camden and is a member of the Hospitality Technology Advisory Board for Pennsylvania State University. He also participates on the Advisory Board for Gaming & Leisure Magazine.
